Thank you for playing!

We feel truly blessed having organised Funbase gatherings since 2015. All the beautiful memories, friendships made & even love found. It’s been an unforgettable ride! Thank all of you for making it so special.

All good things are wild and free

A big thanks to our awesome community

After 6 beautiful years of organising Funbase gatherings together with and for our community, we’ve entered a new chapter in life. Back in 2015, we poured our hearts & souls into making Funbase a truly epic space to unwind, play and meet new friends. This hard (and heart) work really felt like play. And a wonderful, playful community gathered around. We had completely different lives back then though. Getting married, having kids, the odd pandemic, trying to make everything financially sustainable and our personal needs evolving over time. All these factors have naturally contributed in our decision to stop organising Funbase events.

We want to thank each and every one of you in the community for all the joyous moments. All the help in making the gatherings so magical. The late night board game sessions. And of course the late night cleanup parties too. You are awesome! And you have a very special place in our hearts.

Don’t be a stranger

This isn’t a farewell though. Being playful & curious is still very much a first principle for us. Both as human beings and through the work we do. We may even organise the sporadic Funbase gathering in the future! So what are we up to at the moment?

Kai had already started a coworking community in 2017 where “kindness meets business”, called the Treehouse Tribe. It’s become home for a tight-knit, open-hearted group of social entrepreneurs and freelancers. Kai’s work is expanding on his love for world building, experience design and cultivating thriving communities. At the Treehouse, they organise a monthly casual board game night so feel free to drop a line if you’re interested to join.

Robin has found a new passion in bouldering and can nowadays be found frequently at Boulderhal De Fabriek in Hoofddorp giving classes and even setting boulders. Fun story: he’s now happily married to Yavanna, and they met at Funbase.

Thanks again for all the support. We hope to see you someday in the not so distant future!

With love and a big, playful hug,
Robin & Kai
